The entire product range is natural and plant-based and we, like many of you, believe firmly in the power of plants and their ability to do good things, both for humans and animals alike. The last few years the world has seen a step change in how people view chemicals, toxins and even processed foods and we’re super-conscious about what we buy and what long-term effects it may have on our health and well-being. We believe that the products represent the best possible natural alternative to chemical.
About Safe-Care products
In order to comply with regulatory requirements providers of natural products can’t make claims that their products can cure or treat ailments or medical conditions. There’s an accepted use of language and as the products are not licensed veterinary or medicinal products, they cannot claim as such. We believe the products, as many natural remedies do, to have health-beneficial properties and our customers have shared many success stories with us. We simply say that the range of grooming, skin-care, hoof-care and stable management products are useful aids in the hygiene and maintenance of your horse and should be used to compliment and aid natural healing.
This goes for the anti-bacterial products too, and any reference to this is made in a scientific context – especially as some of our products contain tea-tree – rather than a medicinal one.
They regularly check their ingredients against the FEI Banned Substance list and can confirm that none of the products fall into banned categories. All of the products carry a Material Safety Data Sheet and where applicable any HSE approval numbers (Fly Repellent for example) will be displayed on the product label. They have been in consultation with the Veterinary Medical Directorate (VMD) and are working towards better labelling and ensuring that they remain compliant.
Whilst the products are natural and plant-based we recognise that animals, like some humans, may have allergic reactions to some natural ingredients and if you are concerned about this we recommend a standard patch test before using the product.
We do our best to make everything as clear as possible but please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Please note however, that they are unable to provide an entire list of every ingredient and formula as this contravenes their IP.
