I had someone rant at me last night on whats app which I feel needs to be addressed on our social media channels.

While EcoGreen Equestrian is deeply committed to sustainability and eco-friendly practices, we are not a vegan company. Our focus is on using natural ingredients, whether they come from plants, minerals, or animal by-products, in a way that supports the environment and aligns with the needs of the animals we love.

For instance, horses are herbivores and thrive on plant-based diets, which is why our horse supplements are entirely made from natural herbs with no hidden fillers or animal-derived ingredients. On the other hand, dogs are omnivores, meaning they benefit from both meat and plant-based foods. Our dog treats reflect this by being high in quality, locally sourced meat and free of additives and artificial flavours.

We also believe in the importance of supporting British farming and small businesses. Whether it’s the recycled cashmere handmade in Wiltshire or honey and beeswax in certain products, we always seek to work with natural, sustainable materials that come from nature and have a positive environmental impact. Bees are essential to our ecosystem, and by using products derived from their labour, we support their crucial role in sustaining our planet.

We recognise that some people choose a plant-based lifestyle, and while we respect that, many vegan alternatives we’ve come across are highly synthetic and processed, which goes against our ethos of offering products that are as close to nature as possible.

Our goal is not to follow trends but to offer truly natural, sustainable options that are good for both animals and the environment. I hope this clarifies our position, being eco friendly does not mean vegan.
